Seife, Sex & Schokolade – Vom Umgang mit den Körpersäften
Museum Blumenstein, Solothurn
How we smell, what we excrete and how we groom ourselves is something very intimate, personal. Fragrance decides about sympathy and antipathy.
The exhibition "Soap, Sex and Chocolate" shows how we deal with our bodily fluids and how our relationship to our own scent, sexual desire, menstruation, defecation and venereal diseases has changed over the centuries. And how our supposedly personal feelings are shaped by upbringing, society and time.
Visitors are invited to smell, taste and try out for themselves, to spy through peepholes and put on historical sanitary towels, to spray fragrances and to make their own perfume "L'eau séductif du Laurentin". And with a little luck, meet the Blue Silk Squire who haunts the castle.
